I woke up at 4am and decided to do something useful, so I headed into downtown Richmond to try and catch the sunrise. Unfortunately the weather was a little uncooperative, but that didn’t stop me. After stopping in briefly at the large war memorial, I decided to take my first trip to Belle Island via the footbridge, and what a marvel of engineering it is. I was fascinated by it. Got the drone up despite the wind and rain for a few decent shots. Good morning Richmond!

Sycamore Tavern
Just down the road from our house is the historic Sycamore Tavern. I have been fascinated with this great location since our move to Virginia, and the huge sycamore tree just outside it’s doors. The building itself is over 200 years old and was the fourth stagecoach stop on the Richmond-Charlottesville Road. The tavern hosted travelers throughout the 19th century. It is presently being run as the historic Paige Library for Hanover County, a great place to look up your genealogy if your family roots are to be found in the area.
Central Virginia Celtic Festival 2015
I found this event through the Richmond Geek Out and Drink Up Meetup group, and I’m glad I did! It being our first few months in Virginia, we love to find great events like this to make a part of our new tradition. Me and the boys headed out on opening day to catch the Highland Games and the Opening ceremony.
Dipping my toes in the waters of 3D Printing.
I have been fascinated with the idea of home 3D printing ever since it became a reality, but who wouldn’t be? It has taken me a couple of years to take the plunge, but I finally got my first 3D printer, a Flashforge Creator Pro.
It didn’t take me long to get it up and running and create my first print, Darth Buddha!
Wedding Photography
Photography
My college art photography emphasis was primarily film based. I switched from film to digital in 2008 and have been a consistent Sony user. In 2011, I began working for the Mayor of Green Bay and had the opportunity to carry my DSLR with me as I followed the Mayor to more than 500 events a year. During the ensuing years, my photography skills dramatically transformed from continual practice of the craft. I have received recognition for my photos from various agencies throughout the midwest and my photos have been selected for numerous magazine covers, for local, regional, and national brands.
My photos have been featured inside and on the covers of; Lakeland Boating Magazine, Our Wisconsin Magazine, Delta Sky Magazine, Company Magazine, Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau Visitors Guide, Frankly Green Bay Magazine, Downtown Green Bay Activity Guide, Milwaukee Business Journal, AT&T Yellow Pages, Yellowbook, USANational Curling Championships Program Booklet, Wisconsin DNR annual calendar, and many others.
