A Journey of Service and Resilience

Born in Green Bay to a teenage mother, my life has been shaped by challenges, opportunities, and a deep commitment to service. Growing up in Two Rivers, I embraced the latchkey kid era, finding joy in skateboarding, punk music, and 80s pop culture. My creative spirit and early interest in technology led me to earn an Apple IIe certification in middle school, foreshadowing my future in IT.
Early Entrepreneurship and Military Service

At 17, I enlisted in the Marine Corps, serving as a jet engine mechanic for CH-53 helicopters. My technical skills and creative problem-solving earned me a Good Conduct Medal and a Meritorious Mast for developing a computer maintenance tracking system.
After my military service, I quickly embraced entrepreneurship. In 2001, I started my first business as a subcontractor to cable TV companies, installing high-speed internet from Chicago to Door County during the internet boom. This experience as a young business owner taught me valuable lessons in management, customer service, and adapting to rapidly changing technologies.
Building Businesses and Communities
Following my initial venture, I co-founded a family machine shop business, leveraging my grandfather’s legacy in racing. We successfully ran this operation until the 2008 economic downturn before selling the business, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in challenging times.

My career path then led me to politics and public service. As Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt’s Chief of Staff, I played a key role in the city’s downtown renaissance and the establishment of numerous neighborhood associations. These experiences directly translate to Menasha’s needs, as I understand the importance of revitalizing downtown areas and strengthening community bonds through neighborhood initiatives.
Later, as President of Sunset Hill Stoneware, I implemented successful marketing strategies that significantly boosted sales and the value of the company. Today, I work with HawkPoint Technologies, providing IT services to small and medium-sized businesses.
Personal Trials and Triumphs

Life has presented its share of challenges. A devastating accident at Wildcat Mountain State Park in 2020 left me with a broken back and neck. Through sheer determination and the unwavering support of my wife, I not only recovered but went on to run a marathon.
In 2022, my family faced another crisis when my teenage son attempted suicide. This experience deepened my understanding of mental health challenges and strengthened my resolve to support families in our community.
Our Menasha Connection

Since moving here in 2019, my wife Danielle and I have fallen in love with the Menasha community, particularly Doty Island and the downtown area. Our connection to Menasha runs deep, with my children having attended local schools. My youngest son, Louis, was part of the last class to attend Nicolet Elementary on Doty Island, while my other son attended Maplewood Middle School during his recovery. Danielle has previously served on the Doty Island Development Council and presently serves on the Menasha Parks and Recreations Board.
Vision for Menasha’s District 1
As a candidate for City of Menasha District 1, I bring a unique blend of experiences—from early entrepreneurship to military service, from overcoming personal adversity to fostering community growth. My background in business ownership, public service, and community development positions me uniquely to contribute to Menasha’s growth and prosperity.
I’m committed to applying the lessons learned from Green Bay’s downtown revitalization and neighborhood engagement to enhance Menasha’s community spirit and economic vitality. Together, we can build on Menasha’s strengths and create a thriving future for all residents.
I’m not just a candidate; I’m your neighbor, a fellow dog owner (ask me about Keita and Fiona!), and someone who has faced life’s ups and downs. I’m here to listen, to serve, and to work tirelessly for the betterment of our community.
